A price is not permission
Tokenized stocks can be paused, restricted, split or redeemed at any time. COMMS reads the state that decides whether a token is safe to accept, applies your policy, and returns one of four answers. When a piece of evidence is missing, the answer says so.
From address to decision, in five stages.
- 01Resolve the asset
A contract address or symbol is matched against the Robinhood Stock Token registry. An address the registry does not know is reported as unregistered — never assumed.
- 02Read live state
Contract state is read from Robinhood Chain at a pinned block. Lifecycle and quotes come from Robinhood's API. Every value keeps its source and timestamp.
- 03Check the evidence
Nine checks each return PASS, FAIL or UNKNOWN. A check with no verifiable source is UNKNOWN. Missing evidence is never turned into a pass.
- 04Apply your policy
Liquidity, oracle, transfer and redemption requirements decide which checks are decisive. Change the policy and the answer changes deterministically.
- 05Return a decision
ELIGIBLE, INELIGIBLE, CONDITIONAL or UNKNOWN — with the reasons and every piece of evidence that produced it.

- 0ELIGIBLE. Eligible as collateral
- 0CONDITIONAL. Conditionally eligible: a policy threshold is not met
- 0INELIGIBLE. Ineligible as collateral
- 195UNKNOWN. Unknown: insufficient evidence to decide
When the evidence isn’t there, we say so.
Most systems quietly treat “no data” as “fine”. COMMS treats it as a fourth answer. An unverified check is UNKNOWN, and a decision that depends on it is UNKNOWN too — so a protocol can decide what to do, instead of being told something untrue.

Run a check. Read the decision.
Paste a Stock Token contract address, choose a policy and run it. The request goes to the COMMS API, reads live state and returns a decision with its evidence.

Your rules. Their evidence.
A policy decides which checks are decisive. Edit it, test it against a real asset, and watch the decision change — the engine is deterministic, so the same state and policy always give the same answer.

COMMS polls conservatively and caches on the server, so one visitor or a thousand cost the same number of upstream requests. When a WebSocket RPC is configured the listener switches from polling to subscriptions; events shown in the interface are only ever ones that were observed.
